Our Story

Where Red Door Began

Red Door Investments was born out of a conviction that real estate could — and should — do more than generate returns.

We started with a single question: What if the same investment that built financial freedom for our family also opened the door to stability, dignity, and hope for someone else? That question became our company.

Founded in San Antonio, Texas, Red Door Investments has grown from a single mid-term rental into a multi-property portfolio spanning some of the city's most historic and vibrant neighborhoods. Along the way, we've housed traveling healthcare professionals, veterans building new lives, working adults seeking a fresh start, and seniors who deserve to age with grace and stability.

Every door we open is a choice — to put people first, to steward what we've been given, and to build something that outlasts us.

We are a Christian household running a real estate business — and we don't keep those two things separate. Our faith shapes how we treat tenants, how we handle negotiations, how we respond when things go wrong, and what we do with the returns when they come in.

We believe we are stewards of every property, every dollar, and every resident who walks through one of our doors. That means we operate with integrity even when it costs us, we give generously as a built-in commitment rather than an afterthought, and we serve with the same standard we would want applied to someone we love.

Red Door Investments is led by two people who believe what they do with real estate is an extension of who they are called to be.

Matt Bailey

Co-Founder · Acquisitions & Strategy

Matt brings 30 years of business leadership into every deal he pursues — including a decade managing $500M+ retail districts for Best Buy and years scaling a furniture brand from $40M to $200M in revenue. He also spent nearly a decade as the owner of a home health care business, serving seniors and the disabled with the same heart he brings to housing.

Matt leads acquisitions, creative finance structuring, and the strategic vision for Red Door Investments. He is wired to compete, to build, and to win — but he defines winning as creating something that matters. His faith drives every decision.

Kelly Bailey

Co-Founder · Operations & Management

Kelly is the operational engine behind Red Door Investments — the person who turns vision into reality and keeps every property, process, and tenant relationship running at a standard she would want for her own family. Her background spans years as a General Manager and National Commercial Business Development Manager at Living Spaces, where she built and led large teams across multiple locations.

She manages day-to-day property operations, tenant relations, contractor oversight, and the staging and design that sets Red Door properties apart. Her empathy, precision, and drive to serve make every resident feel that someone is genuinely looking out for them.

Red Door Investments is a family business — and growing. As our portfolio expands, so does the team behind it.
